Welcome to duffx.com. The primary theme of this website is comedy with a touch of insanity. It is best taken with a light heart and a sense of humor. Adverse reactions may occur in easily-offended individuals. First time users should begin with the "videos" section in small, adequately spaced doses, and be watchful for unwanted side-effects. Such side-effects may include support of cannibalism, obsession with time travel or immortality, and finding of hilarity in violence. Disclaimed!

UPDATES:

| Happy Halloween! | Wed, Nov 28, 2007 -- 00:12

Ok, so I'm a bit late. I actually had this finished by Halloween for a film contest, but I wasn't allowed to post it anywhere until voting finished. Of course, voting ended like two weeks ago... Ok, I'm just lazy. The theme for the contest was "darkness". Obviously, I wasn't going into this one expecting a win, haha. Enjoy.

| Nesquik! And Robot Chicken. | Tue, Oct 9, 2007 -- 20:37

This is a video I entered in Nesquik's "How do you shake it?" contest. I have to question the intelligence of the judges, though -- not because my video wasn't picked, but because this one wasn't: http://youtube.com/watch?v=zaJayFwd8vg. That video is far better than any of those in the top ten, the majority of which are absolutely terrible. Oh well, what can you do? Aside from boycotting Nesquik, that is. Haha... Fury!!! Rash action!!!

In more important news, I made my TV debut on Sunday. Unfortunately, I was immediately killed off. If you're confused, check out this episode of Robot Chicken: http://www.adultswim.com/video/?episodeID=8a... (it's about 35 seconds into the episode). This was the second part of my prize for winning the video contest. It's so sad, though -- my character was so excited and unsuspecting... But yeah, I think the badassness of the whole ordeal far outweighs the melancholy.

Anyway, I should have another video done later this week (Quiltoshi). In the meantime, enjoy.

| Camera for sale | Sat, Oct 6, 2007 -- 07:30

First off, I'll mention to those of you who are visiting for the extended version of "Quiltoshi" that "a few days" has become a week, and it won't be until later this week that I actually finish and post it. Whoops. For once it's actually because I've been busy and not because I'm lazy. I swear. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, don't worry about it. I'll have a new video posted later this week. I swear.

More importantly (money is ALWAYS more important than creativity), I finally got around to posting my GL2 on craigslist. I'm looking for $1500 for the camera, the wide-angle adapter, the filters, and the carrying case. More info on the craigslist site; here's the link: http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/pho/440975772.html. The only offers I've received so far involve Dewumi Shola and cohorts sending poorly written emails trying to get my personal information so they can transfer the money via Western Union. He keeps referring to the GL2 as "your item". I don't even think he knows what he's trying to scam me out of -- he just saw the price tag and got excited. So yeah, someone make me a real offer so I can buy a bunch of new equipment. Ah, film equipment... Expensive but exciting new toys.

| HEINZ! | Thu, Aug 9, 2007 -- 02:42

Alright, here it is -- my submission for the Heinz "Top This" TV Challenge video contest. The winner gets 57 grand, and the commercial aired on TV. I think there are like four runners up which get $5,700, and possibly also get their commercials aired. I'm not really sure, I didn't read too closely, since there are an assload of entries, and some of them are bound to be really good.

If, by whatever chance, I happen to be selected for the top 15, user votes on youtube will determine the winner. If that's the case, I'll be sure to make another post on August 27th telling everyone to force everyone they know to vote for my video. However, let's not get ahead of ourselves -- for the moment, just enjoy the new videos.

| Two new (old) videos | Thu, Aug 9, 2007 -- 00:49

I made these videos a while ago, but never got around to posting them on the website. The first (above) was a contest submission for TaxCut Online. It was determined by youtube user votes -- a stupid idea in my opinion, since no one is going to watch several hundred entries, they're just going to vote for their friends video, so it ends up being a popularity contest. I, apparently, am unpopular, since I did not win. And yes, I actually did shave the top of my head bald.

This was just a (very) quick idea I got one day when I was home alone and bored. Enjoy. More videos to come in time.

| Some Updates | Wed, Aug 8, 2007 -- 14:52

It's been a while, so I just thought I'd throw out some updates:

Of the two competitions I entered, I took 3rd place for 'Ninja' and 1st place for 'Time Machine'. You can see 'Time Machine' on Adult Swim's website here. Pretty cool, I know -- I got a Microsoft Zune for 'Ninja' (which I'm selling, by the way, if anyone's interested -- duff [AT] duffx [DOT] com), and a Playstation 3 (which I sold) and Adult Swim prize pack for 'Time Machine'. It's nice to finally be getting some money back after everything I've spent on this hobby.

That being said, I'm continuing to do the film contest thing -- I actually just entered in a Heinz ketchup competition for which grand prize is $57,000, so we can always hope. I'll post that submission on the website later today. Also, don't think that I'm going to stop making my usual videos just because I started doing contests; I actually have at least five videos that I've already filmed that just need to be edited.

I know it's been a while, but I'm going to be churning out a bunch of videos in the coming months (that is, if I maintain my current status of not-lazy). I just had what is quite possibly the most badass summer of my life, having traveled to Spain, Montreal, New York, and San Diego, and I'm left feeling invigorated. Stay tuned, because I'll be sure to have more updates later this week by the latest.

| New camera, new video | Tue, Jan 30, 2007 -- 12:09

I found another video contest -- this one for an online golf video game called ShotOnline. The prompt was to create a video that incorporated something related to golf. The top prize is an alienware computer, which are notorious for being very fast, but prohibitively expensive. I could definitely use this new computer, since my current one is giving me a lot of problems with video editing.

Anyway, the contest takes into account both views and ratings, for whatever reason, so please watch the video on youtube and rate it if you liked it. Go here to see the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESCDUrhs38k. Link your friends -- if I win this competition and get this computer, that means more inspiration, and more videos released.

You can find the normal webpage for the video here, with a much higher quality version available for download. You may notice the camera is a lot higher quality than usual -- I just bought a Canon XH-A1 high definition camcorder. This thing is amazing, and as such it cost me $3500. Yeah, I spent every penny I own on it -- so expect me to be getting my money's worth over the next year. I'll also be selling my old camera -- the Canon GL2 shortly, and when I do, I'll post on here about it. Anyway, enjoy the new video -- hopefully as much as I'm enjoying my new camera.

| HAPPY (slightly late) NEW YEAR!!! | Mon, Jan 1, 2007 -- 21:08

I heard Adult Swim was hosting a video contest, so I decided to try my luck and enter. The prize is a Playstation 3, and the winner gets to appear on the show Robot Chicken. So as a new year's gift to you, I present the video. Behold, the Time Machine!
